Dear Members and Friends,

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to what's to come in 2022. There are always changes on the horizon, and perhaps some we shy away from, but change allows for opportunity. So many of us get caught up in the idea that we have to know what's happening tomorrow or we'll suffer the consequences. I say, let tomorrow come and embrace it, whatever it brings. We're not in control of our future. We can only control our reaction to it. If our situation is not what we want, maybe we're going in the wrong direction. Let Divine guidancebe your GPS and try to worry a little less.

The LIRC had a wonderful year in 2021. The annual conference was a huge success, the workshops were well attended and Franz Steine packed the house with his twist on traditional Reiki. What a great seminar! 2012 is shaping up to be another informative and fun year for the LIRC. Our 4th Annual Life Connection conference is set up for March 24, the speakers are confirmed and our workshops are scheduled.

We ended 2021 by saying goodbye to Christine Sugarman, Membership Chairperson. Her dedication and support of the LIRC has been a major factor in helping to move the organization forward. She will be dearly missed at the board meetings, but has assured us that she'll stay involved. We're counting on that! In her absence Lorraine Austin has stepped up to fill the chair position temporarily. If anyone feels inclined to help out, please contact me or one of the board members. We would love to see the board grow!

This year the board has decided to return to a format similar to the one we started with 9 years ago. You'll see a slightly different agenda at the workshops incorporating meditation and more Reiki centered events. Our hope is to remind the community that Reiki is a helpful practiceand it's here to stay.

With the endorsement of widely recognized TV figures such as Dr. Oz, we think the community is ready to open up to the many blessings of Reiki. Our hope is that by bringing in some light we can lessen the fear that Reiki is dark and harmful. The people that shun Reiki and forbid its practice are blinded by their own fear of the unknown. Whatever you call your higher guidance, the only thing that matters is your intention to help. Whether you call it prayer, higher consciousness, divine energy, or anything else, Reiki is the ultimate gift. Helping another is a form of love and as I recall, there were 10 rules that came out a long time ago. One of them said "Love thy neighbor as thyself". Hmmm... sounds like a good plan and sharing Reiki is a beautiful symbol of that love.

I hope that you'll find it in your schedule to attend the workshops and events and network with other like-minded people. So embrace change and send the world some Reiki. Together we can move mountains!

Much Love and Blessings
